A Signal Through Time

I first became a licensed amateur radio operator in June 2000, at fourteen, receiving the call sign KC5KTD.

My interest was inspired in part by my great-great-great-uncle, Ennis S. Morgan of Fort Stockton, Texas, a World War II-era veteran and amateur radio operator whose call sign was WA5VMY. Family stories about his military service, radio work, and the ability to communicate across great distances helped spark my own fascination with radio and technology.

After allowing my original license to expire, I later returned to amateur radio and passed the Technician, General, and Amateur Extra examinations in the same sitting. I was assigned AF5RV, the call sign I still use today.
